Melanie Rummel has practiced law in the areas of estate planning and probate for 30 plus years, and worked tirelessly in leadership positions for an equivalent period of time, volunteering with several civic and cultural organizations in Lake Forest and along the North Shore. She represents individuals in the transfer and protection wealth and all types of assets, including family businesses.
Her long professional tenure in her hometown has afforded the opportunity to represent successive generations of families in handling estate planning and legacy administration, from drafting the plan through the estate settlement. She feels that knowing clients from the community gives her insight into ways to best serve their individual needs.
Ms. Rummel has an extensive background in equine law, enabling her to advise individuals, equine professionals and equestrian businesses in equine related legal matters.
Ms. Rummel is an adjunct professor of law at Loyola University of Chicago Law School where she teaches third year law students to draft wills and trust agreements.
