EQUINE: The Horse and the Law

We understand that individuals, families and partnerships with a legal interest in thoroughbred horses require the counsel of attorneys with specific experience in many different legal disciplines, ranging from contract law to real estate and property issues, liability releases and breeding contracts. Many of the issues are unique to the horse trade and involve regulatory and contract provisions that are unlike those relating to other assets or property. Owners, as well as equine veterinary practices and other service providers require specific documentation in a variety of settings, and often need additional forms of liability protection unique to the circumstances. Even ownership agreements, syndications, partnerships and private sponsorships require legal knowledge and judgment as to the appropriateness of each for an individual owner/investor.
Our equine attorney is a life-long horse owner and accomplished rider with extensive experience working with individual horse owners, professional horse trainers, breeders, veterinarians, and commercial entities, such as boarding stables and training facilities, as well as all forms of ownership entities.
