TAXATION

Our clients tell us they have two fundamental and interrelated needs regarding taxation:

  • First, they want tax planning strategies that integrate the optimal set of state and federal tax advantages for all personal, family and business financial decisions. They want to know, before making a significant financial transaction that they are taking full advantage of everything the most current tax law offers.
  • Second, they want to be confident that they are filing fully compliant income tax returns that, again, take full advantage of the most current tax law.

Providing counsel to fulfill these client needs requires the ability to analyze and integrate all financial transactions, as well as the commitment to stay current with—even anticipate—changes in the local, state and federal tax codes.

Tax Planning Strategies
As your tax planning strategists, our goal is to help you determine the optimum value of a transaction from a tax perspective, before the transaction is made. For example, it might be the form of a particular transaction, not its substance that makes it look questionable. By applying a tax perspective to restructure the transaction, our counsel might help you recognize a hidden opportunity while understanding all potential tax liabilities.

Income Tax Returns
Our familiarity with the federal tax code and individual state codes is grounded in annually preparing individual, family, corporate and partnership returns for clients who reside in all parts of the country, and have business and family interests in only one, or multiple, states. We work with them, and their financial advisors, providing accurate, comprehensive and carefully prepared federal and state income tax returns.

As an accompaniment to our firm's Estate Planning practice, we prepare Fiduciary, Partnership, Estate and Gift tax returns for clients and their families.
